Scriptnetics releases the first EMR with embedded handwriting

MONCTON, N.B. -- April 22, 2004 -- Scriptnetics announced today the official release of Medscribbler, the first electronic medical record (EMR) designed and built to take full advantage of the new Tablet PCs and the Microsoft Windows® XP Tablet operating system.

Medscribbler is aimed at finally providing a way for the 85% of primary care physicians without an EMR to move away from paper, said Milne. “The key in the design was the physician, nothing was added unless it actually made it easier for the physician using the Tablet PC to manage a patient`s record. Care was also taken to make sure the installation and administration of this very robust system was as easy as possible.”

Medscribbler requires a Tablet PC for handwriting entry, was developed with the Microsoft® Tablet SDK, high level programming tools and comes with a MySQL® database.
